Home and heritage in a loaf of bread Knead thirteen years into the tenderness of dedicating to one’s hometown

The managers, Ye Jinan and Cai Yipo, dedicated thirteen years to Wu Baochun Bakery. From Kaohsiung to Taichung to Shanghai and Singapore, they continue to hone their baking skills during their expatriate experience. In 2023, the birth of a child advanced the couple’s dream. In 2024, they returned to their hometown with a full of enthusiasm and opened their own bakery in Hemei Town. This small shop is not only the landing of dreams, but also a warm and sincere gift dedicated to family and homeland.

The manager knows that good bread is not only delicious, but also about health, quality and food safety. The store carefully selects high-quality ingredients, focusing on presenting the taste and value of European-style bread. The couple’s dream is to turn this tempered skill and deliciousness into the daily warmth of the neighborhood and alleys, and provide customers with a safe and healthy delicious choice with professional service.

The store’s name “Yiqing” contains deep family affection and family connections, conveying respect and affection for loved ones. It is inspired by the name of a family and is a confession they wrote to their family! “Yi” symbolizes romance and love, “Qing” symbolizes inheritance and respect, and “莯” was originally a nickname conceived by the manager for his daughter, expressing his deep affection for family members.

The Hobbit House in the Countryside Let the bread speak for itself

In the traditional taste of harmony and beauty, Yiqingyuan chose a more focused path: not to win by quantity, but to use “difference” to let the bread speak for itself. Since its opening, Yiqing’s European buns have been very popular, and the owner found that many customers came with the curiosity of “looking for something different”. Therefore, the manager chose to hide some ingenuity in the seemingly classic product – through unique fermentation and baking processes, or simply reheating after customer purchase, it can stimulate surprising layers and aromas.
This unique taste difference is their silent business card, and there are always customers who are loyal to traditional flavors and become regulars after one try. From curiosity to recognition, from early adopters to habits, this trust passed down by word of mouth is the most precious nutrient for Yiqingyuan to take root and grow here.

Business Thinking of a Community Bakery Part.03
Baking answers from the fields Listen to the voice of the market: make bread small, enlarge the heart
Since the opening of the store, Yiqingya has noticed an interesting phenomenon: many customers love the flavor of European-style bread, but they are worried that the size is too large to finish. Although the manager has adjusted the price to be more affordable than the city, “weight” is still the key to customer hesitation. So they decided to change – without sacrificing quality, moderately reduce the size of the product, and redesign the product line with European packaging as the main axis. The manager believes that making bread easy to enter daily life is the way to truly get close to people’s hearts.

The Evolution of Bread: Finding a Better Solution in Tradition
For Yiqing, although bread is a daily staple food, it is worth constantly reshaping with technology. They have never stopped refining in taste and quality, making detailed adjustments to fermentation and baking to bring each batch closer to the ideal state. At the same time, as the seasons change, new products will be launched in line with the season, allowing customers to taste the freshness and intention in different seasons.

Seasonal strategy: turn three hours into prime time
Summer is a challenge for bakeries, but Yiqing has set its business hours to start at 12 noon – this is to meet the crowd of people in local factories and the demand of business owners to purchase gifts. Although the peak sales are concentrated in the afternoon for about three hours, they are committed to providing “textured” products that customers can not only enjoy themselves, but also give them as decent gifts. This thoughtfulness is Yiqing’s gentle strategy to combat seasonal fluctuations.

Behind the price increase: Quality is uncompromising
In the face of rising raw materials, Yiqingpu chose to look at it rationally. When raw material prices generally rise, their first thought is not to reduce costs, but to make consumers still feel “worth it”. For them, a slight increase is inevitable, but they are more willing to balance this pressure by increasing store awareness and customer experience – because they firmly believe that the real reason to keep customers coming back is always quality, not price.
